Expedition Gobi Desert

In summer 2013, Ray and Bob headed to the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. The purpose of their trip was for an expedition that would span the width of the Gobi, in which Ray would attempt to run over 2000km from the northeastern edge of the desert, to the western edge.

Over the course of several weeks, the expedition was connected to classrooms and living rooms through live satellite, as the adventure unfolded.

What began as a run, once again turned into lifelong friendships made with our on the ground logistics team in Mongolia. They would teach and share with us the vibrancy of the Mongolian culture, and our film crew captured the stories of the people living across the Gobi and in small desert communities. Upon reaching the western edge of the Gobi, Ray and Bob both agreed at some point they would be back- for an i2P youth expedition, or to bring new friends there on an adventure!

Your Gobi Desert adventure begins with meeting our friends in Mongolia, who will spend the next 8 days with us in one of the least densely populated countries on Earth. Our supported route takes us across massive sand dunes, and then onto the Altai foothills.

As with all of our expeditions, all monies on logistics are spent in country, and locally, and as such we will be including a large cultural component as well.

This expedition is truly not to be missed. Space will be limited.
